Rhapsody in West
The Kolenkit neighbourhood in Amsterdam-West is in full development, and the project 'Rhapsody in West' is a good example of this. Thanks to our regular construction-company clients, Smit's Bouwbedrijf and Bouwbedrijf De Nijs, we have been allowed to take part in the realisation of this project. Divided over five buildings, 239 private-sector apartments and 400 m2 of commercial space will be realised here. The buildings are connected to the district heating network, the roofs are entirely covered with solar panels, and there is underground 'heat/cold storage', in turn forming a sustainable whole that Wiggers was able to contribute to as well.
This means that we provided window jambs for the door and window frames of the apartments. We also made the cove panelling, the window ledges and the frames for the meter boxes. In other words, with we delivered Wiggers' well-known customisation. The raw materials used for these products are of course FSC® certified. We wrapped the window jambs and window sills in film with a 180 Mμ thickness. It is a particularly impact-resistant and naturally paint-free material. Our partners at MIT Bouw once again took care of the professional assembly.
