Ceiling frames with Ayous look for De Corridor shopping centre
Van Ginkel Afbouw was asked to install a new wooden ceiling for the renovation of De Corridor shopping centre in Veenendaal. This was a challenging assignment, as the new ceiling had to match the original design exactly in terms of colour and appearance. ‘Wiggers was able to replicate the desired Ayous look one-to-one based on a sample,’ says Julian van den Brandhof, estimator and work planner at Van Ginkel. ‘The colour and structure are a perfect match. The result is absolutely beautiful.’

Prefab frames with a natural look
The ceiling frames are made of fire-retardant MDF and covered with a foil that gives them the Ayous look. We developed this foil in our own factory, with exactly the right colour and wood structure. This ensures that it matches the existing finish perfectly. The frames are a fixed size and feature slats connected into a single unit by a notch. By supplying the system prefabricated, Van Ginkel was able to install the panels quickly and easily create the curves on site. The existing lighting also fits directly between the frames, exactly as designed.
Clear alignment and smooth process
According to Julian, the collaboration went very well. ‘We have been working together for a number of years, mainly on skirting boards and finishing materials. But we also had a good rapport right from the start on this project. Wiggers' employees come by, check that everything is correct, and advise on ordering. The latter is important because you are dealing with customised work.’
To save storage space, we delivered the ceiling frames in two phases, tailored to the shopping centre's schedule. Thanks to this preparation, Van Ginkel completed the installation quickly. The result: a sleek ceiling that complements De Corridor's renovated look perfectly.
